Ministry of Industry and Trade
Before Tomáš Hüner has been appointed the Minister of Industry and Trade he worked at Siemens as the manager of the Energy Management Division. From 2014 to 2015 he was the Chairman of the Board and the Manager of the Energy Generation Capacities at Vršanská uhelná, a.s., where one of his tasks was the preparation for the take-over of the Počerady Power Station. In 2006 - 2014 he was the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of ČEPS, a.s., the national TSO. In 2011 - 2014 he was the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of OTE, a.s. He has got experience from the state administration too where he worked at the position of the vice-minister at the Ministry of Industry and Trade. From 2006 to 2011 he headed the preparation of new energy legislation and strategy for industry at the Ministry. Before that he worked at various managerial positions in power generation, for example in ČEZ, a.s., a major Czech power utility or in Severomoravská energetika (SME), one of the distribution companies. In 1994 to 2003 he was the Chairman of the Board and CEO of Severomoravská energetika. Tomáš Hüner is a highly recognised specialist in the energy sector and industry.
